Dean Long

Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director

Dean is a Public Policy professional with 15 years of experience providing advice to Governments around Australia and the business sectors with a focus on delivering advocacy outcomes that are mutually beneficial. Throughout his career Dean has created and maintained strong and trusted relationships across the political, private and public sectors.

Dean was appointed the CEO and Executive Director of the Accommodation Association in June 2019 following roles as a Senior Adviser in the NSW Government, Head of Public Policy for the Australian Federation of Travel Agents and the National Manager of Government Acquisition (merchant services) for American Express. Dean has successfully led industry responses to regulatory changes across financial services, taxation, consumer affairs, immigration and planning. 

Dean holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, Environmental Management and Tourism from Western Sydney University and Masters of Management from the University of Technology Sydney.

Dean is also an avid adopter of new technology, a soon to be owner of the NFL franchise - the Greenbay Packers, passionate follower the Australian Test Cricket team and an aviation geek.

Laura Younger (GAICD)

General Manager - Australian Timeshare and Holiday Ownership Council and Queensland

Laura has a business background in membership organisations in Australia and Britain. Laura has a Master of Business administration from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Southern Queensland and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Laura is the Chair of the Surfers Paradise Alliance; Board member and Chair of the QTIC Associations Council and Deputy President of the Gold Coast Central Chamber of Commerce.

Carol Giuseppi (GAICD)

National General Manager Operations/NSW

Carol is a senior business professional, with a strong stakeholder management, advocacy and strategic business background. Since commencing her career at British Airways, she has held senior positions within the tourism and hospitality sector inclusive at Southern Pacific Hotels, Fox Studios, Sydney Olympic Park Authority and Tourism Accommodation Australia, as well as outside the sector with American Express and Amber Group.

Carol has an Executive MBA, a Masters of Business (Marketing), a Bachelor of Science and a Diploma of Market Research.  She is also a graduate of the Institute of Company Directors. In her current position her role encompasses policy, advocacy and member services.

She has been a director on the board of HTN (Hospitality Employment Solutions), on the Tourism Advisory Board of Service Skills Australia and on the CatholicCare Foundations Board.

Michelle King

National General Manager Strategic Partnerships and Membership

Michelle has enjoyed a successful senior management career across the tourism, hospitality, education and association sectors both within Australia and internationally. Roles within the tourism and hospitality sectors include Director of Sales and Marketing for a luxury hotel product, National Sales roles within a regional hotel franchise and management group servicing brands including Choice Hotels Australasia, Constellation Hotels and Sundowner Motor Inns and National sales acquisition and account management position at Hertz UK.

Within the education sector, Michelle has extensive experience as a vocational trainer in the business and tourism faculties and the association sector as Executive Officer at the Tourism Accommodation Australia (Victoria).

As the National Membership Manager Michelle is responsible for growing membership, sourcing sponsorship opportunities, acting as the Secretariat of the State Advisory Board in Victoria and servicing the needs of the accommodation members across Australia.

Jenny Le

National Manager Events and Member Services

Jenny is an events and membership professional who is always seeking new ways to produce and manage events that will drive member engagement.

Jenny commenced her professional career as a graduate at the Accommodation Association and then undertook the role of event coordinator at the Mortgage and Finance Association Australia just after the Hayne Royal Commission. Jenny saw first hand the power of events in building member engagement and rebuilding community confidence in the mortgage broking sector. She has now returned to the Accommodation Association as the National Manager Events and Member Services.

Jenny graduated with Bachelor Management, Events and Leisure from the University Technology of Sydney in 2015.

Noel Teskey

National Manager Workplace Relations

Noel joined the Workplace Relations team in October 2006 and brought with him a wealth of management knowledge and experience.  Previously, Noel managed large and small enterprises, and owned and operated a number of small businesses. 

He provides members with pragmatic advice on a wide range of workplace relations matters, including award interpretations, workplace agreements, workplace health & safety, workers’ compensation legislation, dispute resolution and employers’ superannuation contributions.   He undertakes compliance audits, and conducts seminars and workshops throughout Australia. 

Noel holds a business degree majoring in Accountancy and Marketing, and a graduate certificate in HRM, majoring in Industrial Relations.
