Chief Operating Officer


Cass is a strong leader, with a proven reputation for removing obstacles and making things happen. Cass is a highly analytical and enthusiastic change agent with a proven track record for increasing efficiencies, implementing processes, with a demonstrated ability to scrutinize technical and operational data to guide senior-level strategic corporate initiatives. 

Cass has held senior management positions across the hospitality and education sector as these industries need to work more cohesively together. Cass is also Secretariat for the National Advisory Board of Employment and overs all Advisory Boards conducted by the Accommodation Association. 

Before being appointed as COO of the Accommodation Association Cass owned a Training Organisation with a national footprint, catering for the training needs within the hospitality sector and numerous other industries. Cass holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Hotel Management and all relevant vocational training qualifications ensuring our members have the highest quality training networks available to them.

A family girl foremost, with two beautiful children and a one-eyed Hawthorn supporter, who also enjoys tennis, horse racing, golf and a fine wine.

Laura Younger (GAICD)

General Manager - Australian Timeshare and Holiday Ownership Council and Queensland


Laura has a business background in membership organisations in Australia and Britain. Laura has a Master of Business administration from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Southern Queensland and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Laura is the Chair of the Surfers Paradise Alliance; Board member and Chair of the QTIC Associations Council and Deputy President of the Gold Coast Central Chamber of Commerce.

Bassel Tallal

National General Manager for Advocacy and Public Policy


Bassel is passionate about achieving positive change in our community through good public policy outcomes. A highly skilled stakeholder engagement specialist with a specialty in advocacy and campaigns, Bassel brings a decade of experience in politics advising senior Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, and senior executives.

As the National General Manager for Advocacy and Public Policy, Bassel has a passion for the accommodation sector and the people that work so hard within it. He has responsibility for identifying and influencing emerging trends, risks and opportunities in the Government and regulatory landscape and assisting the many members of the accommodation sector that keeps the Australian economy buzzing. 

Bassel is a highly experienced Corporate Affairs and Government Affairs advisor who enjoys specialist skills and experience in advocacy and campaigns and has previously worked for the Deputy Leader in the Australian Senate, the Federal Communications Minister, the Deputy Parliamentary Labor leader and most recently the Shadow Minister for National Reconstruction, Employment, Skills and Small Business.

Immediately prior to his current role, Bassel also served in the Special Projects function at respected accounting firm Smith Feutrill in response to the challenges posed by the most recent Covid-19 Victorian Lockdown.

Michelle King

National General Manager Strategic Partnerships and Membership


Michelle has enjoyed a successful senior management career across the tourism, hospitality, education and association sectors both within Australia and internationally. Roles within the tourism and hospitality sectors include Director of Sales and Marketing for a luxury hotel product, National Sales roles within a regional hotel franchise and management group servicing brands including Choice Hotels Australasia, Constellation Hotels and Sundowner Motor Inns and National sales acquisition and account management position at Hertz UK.

Within the education sector, Michelle has extensive experience as a vocational trainer in the business and tourism faculties and the association sector as Executive Officer at the Tourism Accommodation Australia (Victoria).

As the National Membership Manager Michelle is responsible for growing membership, sourcing sponsorship opportunities, acting as the Secretariat of the State Advisory Board in Victoria and servicing the needs of the accommodation members across Australia.

Jenny Le

National Manager Events and Member Services


Jenny is an events and membership professional who is always seeking new ways to produce and manage events that will drive member engagement.

Jenny commenced her professional career as a graduate at the Accommodation Association and then undertook the role of event coordinator at the Mortgage and Finance Association Australia just after the Hayne Royal Commission. Jenny saw first hand the power of events in building member engagement and rebuilding community confidence in the mortgage broking sector. She has now returned to the Accommodation Association as the National Manager Events and Member Services.

Jenny graduated with Bachelor Management, Events and Leisure from the University Technology of Sydney in 2015.

Noel Teskey

National Manager Industrial Relations and Membership Services


Noel joined the Workplace Relations team in October 2006 and brought with him a wealth of management knowledge and experience.  Previously, Noel managed large and small enterprises, and owned and operated a number of small businesses. 

He provides members with pragmatic advice on a wide range of workplace relations matters, including award interpretations, workplace agreements, workplace health & safety, workers’ compensation legislation, dispute resolution and employers’ superannuation contributions.   He undertakes compliance audits, and conducts seminars and workshops throughout Australia. 

Noel holds a business degree majoring in Accountancy and Marketing, and a graduate certificate in HRM, majoring in Industrial Relations.
