Diploma of Hospitality

The Diploma of Event Management reflects the role of employees who use a broad range of event-related skills and knowledge of event management and processes to co-ordinate operations.

Events are diverse in nature and this qualification provides a pathway to work in high level organisations in the hospitality and tourism industry. Work could be undertaken in an office environment where the planning of events takes place, on-site at venues where events are staged or a combination of both.

  • Conference Coordinator
  • Event or exhibition coordinator
  • Event or exhibition planner
  • Event sales coordinator
  • Function coordinator
  • In-house meetings coordinator
  • Meetings coordinator
  • Staging coordinator
  • Venue coordinator.

The qualification consists of the following –

  • 11 Core units
  • 9 Elective units

Course Duration – 1 – 2 years.

The delivery of training can be flexible with the following methods -

  • Classroom based
  • On the job training and assessment
  • Certain units online
  • Distance education

The qualification duration and costs can vary dependant on each individual and employment status. Government incentives are available and may be eligible for both individuals and employers.
